By booking, purchasing, requesting, or using any service provided by FjordPaws Dog Care, the customer ("you" or "Client") confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.
These Terms apply to all services provided by FjordPaws Dog Care, including dog walking, puppy socialization visits, home boarding, basic obedience training, pet sitting, and grooming and coat care.
2. Scope of services
FjordPaws Dog Care provides professional dog care services, which may include, depending on availability and suitability:
- Dog walking
- Puppy socialization visits
- Home boarding
- Basic obedience training
- Pet sitting
- Grooming and coat care
The exact scope, schedule, duration, location, and price of any service will be agreed in writing, by booking confirmation, service agreement, message exchange, or invoice.
We reserve the right to decline, suspend, or discontinue any service if, in our reasonable judgment, the dog, premises, environment, or Client conduct presents a safety, welfare, legal, or operational concern.
Our services are intended for domestic dogs and are not veterinary services. We do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe medical care. If a dog requires veterinary attention, the Client is solely responsible for obtaining such care promptly.
3. User obligations and responsibilities
The Client agrees to the following obligations:
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information about the dog, including age, breed, temperament, behavior, medical history, allergies, vaccination status, parasite treatment, and any special needs.
- Ensure the dog is fit to participate in the requested service and does not pose an unreasonable risk to people, animals, property, or itself.
- Disclose any history of aggression, biting, escape behavior, separation anxiety, reactivity, fear issues, or other behavioral concerns before booking.
- Provide all necessary items requested for the service, such as leash, collar, harness, food, medication, bedding, toys, or grooming equipment, where applicable.
- Ensure the dog is properly identified and, where appropriate, microchipped and wearing identification in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Maintain valid vaccinations, parasite control, and any other health measures reasonably required for the service.
- Not request services for a dog that is ill, contagious, injured, or otherwise unsuitable unless we have expressly agreed in writing.
- Be available for emergency contact and respond promptly to communications concerning the dog.
- Pay all fees when due and comply with any booking, access, pickup, drop-off, or house rules communicated by FjordPaws Dog Care.
The Client is responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or expense caused by inaccurate information, failure to disclose relevant facts, or failure to meet these obligations.
The Client must ensure that any premises used for pet sitting or home boarding are safe, accessible, and reasonably clean, and that any keys, codes, or access instructions provided are accurate.
4. Payment terms and conditions
Fees are based on the agreed service, duration, frequency, location, complexity, and any additional requirements. Prices may be communicated in a quote, booking confirmation, price list, or invoice.
- Payment is due by the date stated on the invoice or, if no date is stated, immediately upon receipt.
- We may require advance payment, deposits, or partial prepayment for certain services, including home boarding and recurring bookings.
- All prices are stated in Norwegian kroner unless otherwise agreed.
- Any applicable taxes, fees, or surcharges will be indicated where required.
- Late payments may result in suspension of services and recovery of collection costs to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If the Client requests services outside normal hours, on public holidays, at short notice, or in circumstances requiring extra time or travel, additional charges may apply.
We reserve the right to adjust prices from time to time. Updated prices will apply to future bookings and will not affect services already confirmed unless the Client agrees otherwise.
5. Cancellation and refund policy
Cancellations must be communicated as soon as possible by email or phone. The following cancellation terms apply unless a different written agreement has been made for a specific booking:
- Dog walking, puppy socialization visits, pet sitting, grooming and coat care, and basic obedience training: cancellations made with reasonable notice may be rescheduled subject to availability. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full or in part.
- Home boarding: deposits may be non-refundable once the booking is confirmed, due to reserved capacity and preparation costs.
- Recurring or package bookings: unused sessions are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Refunds, if any, are issued at our discretion in accordance with the specific circumstances of the cancellation, the amount of notice given, and any costs already incurred by FjordPaws Dog Care.
If we must cancel a service due to illness, safety concerns, force majeure, or other legitimate reasons, we will use reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide a refund for the affected portion of the prepaid service, unless the cancellation is caused by the Client's breach of these Terms.
No refund will be due for services already performed, partially performed at the Client's request, or interrupted due to the Client's breach, failure to cooperate, or failure to provide accurate information.
6. Liability limitations
FjordPaws Dog Care will perform services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of business, reputational loss, or loss of anticipated savings.
We are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing medical conditions, injuries, or behavioral issues of the dog;
- Loss or damage caused by the dog's own actions, including chewing, scratching, escaping, or aggression;
- Loss or damage caused by inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Client;
- Delays, interruptions, or service limitations caused by weather, traffic, access issues, third parties, or events beyond our control;
- Items left with the dog unless expressly accepted by us in writing.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or mandatory consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
The Client acknowledges that dogs are living animals and that despite reasonable care, certain risks cannot be eliminated entirely. The Client accepts those inherent risks to the extent permitted by law.

We will handle personal data in a lawful, fair, and transparent manner and take appropriate measures to protect it against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that any personal data provided to us is accurate and that they have the right to disclose it. If we maintain a separate privacy notice, that notice forms part of the information provided to the Client and should be read together with these Terms.
9. Force majeure
FjordPaws Dog Care shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations to the extent caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, public authority action, war, terrorism, labor disputes, transport disruption, power failure, internet outage, or emergency veterinary or safety incidents.
If a force majeure event occurs, we may suspend, modify, or cancel affected services for the duration of the event and will use reasonable efforts to notify the Client and minimize disruption.
10. Changes to terms
FjordPaws Dog Care may update or amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operational practices, or legal requirements.
The updated Terms will take effect when published or when otherwise communicated to the Client, unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use of our services after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If a change materially affects an existing booking, we will act reasonably and, where appropriate, seek the Client's agreement before applying the change to that booking.
11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall, to the extent permitted by applicable law, be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Norway. If mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise, those rules shall prevail.

The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Any failure by FjordPaws Dog Care to enforce a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
